Ampere – All Our Tomorrows End Today

Continuing with records on the heavier side of my musical enjoyment spectrum, All Our Tomorrows End Today is, in my opinion, one of the best screamo records of all time. I’m probably biased though, as i think every record ampere have done is golden. With members from bands including The Last 40 Seconds Wolves and Will Kingsworth of Orchid and Bucket Full Of Teeth fame, Ampere play fast, anxious DIY punk and DIY ethics are at the forefront of the lyrical content of this record. This band encapsulate sincerity and although i have listened to this record countless times, i still find new layers and new meanings to explore.

Circle Takes The Square & Pg.99 – Document #13: Pyramids In Cloth

For me, CTTS dominate this split 7″. Their two tracks are notably different from anything they released previously or indeed since. “Patchwork Neurology” and “We Are Sustained By The Corpse Of A Fallen Constellation” posses vigor and freneticism beyond the preceding self titled EP and provide a stepping stone towards the more grandiose chaos of As The Roots Undo. I personally believe that this release is on par with ATRU, not in terms of likeness but in terms of sheer listening delectation.
Pg.99 break no boundaries with their contribution to this release. It is undoubtedly good screamo, but i can’t help but feel they can do (and have done) better.
